[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

Friend -

You need to see The Charlotte Observer Editorial Board’s headline on what having “Cheri Beasley as [Democrat’s] presumptive nominee” means for our campaign:

The Charlotte Observer Analysis: An early victory in North Carolina's U.S. Senate race. By the editorial board.

The editorial board said this matters because of the “obvious benefit for Democrats: the ability to unite early behind one candidate while Republicans are mired in a costly primary brawl between U.S. Rep. Ted Budd and former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory.”

The Charlotte Observer said this is “a race where every advantage will matter,” so we have to capitalize on this opportunity to start our general election strong. Will you make a $3 donation now to help us win this race and elect Cheri Beasley?

Look, it’s not easy to win statewide in North Carolina, but with a strong campaign and the right candidate it is possible — Cheri’s proven that twice before.

That’s why the nonpartisan Cook Political Report has rated our Senate race as a true toss up in 2022.

And as The Charlotte Observer points out the contrast could not be clearer right now: “With Budd and McCrory largely intent on each other,” Democrats can “remind voters of something different riding on this race: history. Beasley would be the first Black U.S. senator to be elected in North Carolina, and she would be only the third Black woman to serve in the Senate.”

So while Republicans fight it out, we need to get to work and focus on setting ourselves up for a historic victory in 2022.

Cheri is counting on lots of people to chip in today — whether that's $3 or whatever you can spare. Can you step up and make sure we have the resources we need to flip this seat?
