Team, my campaign and I have some exciting news to share!
We’ve officially visited every county in Maryland in our ongoing journey to bring lasting change to our state! Through it all, I’ve met with folks from Cumberland to Cambridge and heard how our government can serve their communities better — and one thing is abundantly clear: Marylanders are fed up with settling for small solutions to big challenges, and what we need now is bold, collective action to unite us.

Across all counties and in each conversation, I’ve had the opportunity to hear directly what I could do as Maryland’s next governor to address the needs of Marylanders from all walks of life. From strengthening both our physical infrastructure – like public transportation and broadband access – and our social infrastructure – like paid family leave and access to affordable housing, I will work tirelessly to ensure our government works for everyone and to close the opportunity gaps related to education, wealth, and health care.
An equitable state where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential is possible, and I know change is possible because of my journey from a troubled kid with an unstable home life who got kicked out of high school to becoming President Obama’s U.S. Secretary of Education. My path was made possible by public schools and the teachers and counselors who invested in me. I was lucky that the right people intervened in my life when they did and I know how crucial it is we make upward mobility less challenging — and I’m dedicated to making that goal a reality here in Maryland.
Together, I know we can create a stronger Maryland that works for all communities, from the Eastern Shore to Baltimore City to the mountains of Western Maryland. But I’m counting on supporters like you to join me in that pursuit. So what do you say – will you help me fight for the future we all deserve by pitching in what you can to support our campaign today?
