I’m a proud daughter of Mexican Immigrants, a native-South Texan, an immigration and human rights attorney, and I’m running to unseat Rep. Henry Cuellar in Congress. Here’s why I’m going all-in to win: Just this year alone, Texas has faced serious consequences from climate disasters from the power grid failures to extreme weather our infrastructure was not prepared to handle. And recently, ProPublica listed Laredo as a hotspot for industrial air pollution. But instead of addressing these issues head-on, Henry Cuellar has rolled back environmental protections and has taken thousands of dollars from the oil and gas industry — earning him the title of “Big Oil’s favorite Democrat.” He’s even accepted last-minute corporate checks, television ads, and mailers funded by the American Petroleum Institute and the Koch Political Network to get re-elected in last year’s election. South Texas deserves better, John. We can’t accept another minute of Henry Cuellar’s refusal to do what’s best for our communities and our planet. Cuellar has received $100,200 from the Oil & Gas industry. Throughout the Build Back Better budget reconciliation process, six major oil and gas drillers spent $15M to lobby against climate action. Even more, four oil and gas companies that have reported “specifically lobbying against methane regulation” have all maxed out their donations to Rep. Cuellar this cycle:
