John,
You’re allowed to be mad — heck, I am too. Joe Manchin’s news that he won’t support the Build Back Better Act is devastating. Full stop.
His decision is incredibly disheartening. My Democratic colleagues and I worked hard to pass this historic package through the House — a package that would have made prescription drug costs more affordable, expanded the ACA, reduced energy costs, funded efforts to combat the climate crisis, and so much more.
So, yes John, we get to be mad. But where we go from here is what matters most.
We’re heading into an election year and right now, the polls are in the GOP’s favor. But I believe that if we put in the work now, we can and will see the Democratic victories we so badly need in 2022.
We’ll try again to pass parts of this crucial bill early next year — and we can expand our majorities in the House and Senate so that we’re not relying on officials like Joe Manchin to pass progressive policies for Americans.
Right now, my friend and colleague, Val Demings is running to unseat Marco Rubio in Florida — will you split a donation between our campaigns today to help us grow our Senate majority?
Republican victories in Virginia this year signaled to the GOP that if they go on the attack, they can be successful in 2022.
We can’t give up. Now, more than ever, we need to pull out all the stops to ensure Democrats win up and down the ballot in the midterms next year.
If you’re with me, Val, and the rest of our party who refuse to let this Build Back Better news be a setback, will you chip in to fuel our fight in Congress and expand our majorities today?

your donation will go through immediately:
Thanks for your support, John.
