I’m Jessica Cisneros. I’m the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, a lifelong South Texan, an immigration attorney, and I’m running for Congress to improve the lives of working people in this country.
Last year, I ran in my home district against one of the most right-wing Democrats in Congress, Henry Cuellar. Cuellar has spent sixteen years in Congress representing his corporate donors, the private prison companies, big banks, the NRA — and not the people who elected him.
Even though we were heavily outspent, we lost by only 2,746 votes — just 3% of the vote. We came so close to winning because of the organizers who are building a progressive movement here in South Texas. That is why I’m honored to once again have the support of the Working Families Party as we work to bring representation to our neighbors who have been ignored, neglected, and disenfranchised.
Time and time again, we’ve seen politicians throw our communities under the bus and vote against our interests. Cuellar was the only Democrat to vote against the Women’s Health Protection Act, and is the last anti-choice Democrat in the House.

Last year, Henry Cuellar was able to outspend us by cashing in campaign checks from the oil and gas industry, private prison companies, and even the Koch brothers. Cuellar and his corporate donors will spare no expense in trying to defeat me in the primary. And just last week, Ted Cruz endorsed a GOP opponent against me. We are just two months away from early voting, and we need all hands on deck to defeat Henry Cuellar.
It’s time to defeat Henry Cuellar, fight our Cruz-backed opponent, and elect a Congresswoman who will fight for a pathway to citizenship, Medicare for All, and reproductive freedom.
