A few weeks ago, corporate Democrats joined with Republicans to put climate action, universal pre-K, paid leave, and Medicare expansion at risk. The Squad voted against the political establishment, and for good reason.

The Squad was right not to trust corporate Democrats like Joe Manchin. Corporate Democrats promised the people they would pass Build Back Better (BBB) if Congress just passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill (BIF) first. Now, Manchin says he can’t support Build Back Better.

AOC has it right:

Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley were the only Democrats to vote WITH THE PEOPLE. Because corporate Democrats passed BIF, a bill corporations were lobbying for, without passing BBB, the effort to improve the social safety net and fight climate change looks to be crushed.

When it comes down to it, corporate Democrats do not want to pass popular progressive policies. It’s on the Justice Democrats in Congress — and the grassroots movement behind them — to hold the line and protect investments for working people.

We need to back up the Squad RIGHT NOW. We need to show that we are the future of the Democratic party, not the same old politicians voting with corporate lobbyists and maintaining the status quo. Can you make a $3 donation to Justice Democrats today to protect and expand the Squad in Congress?
