Friend,
Amazon is creating massive amounts of plastic waste every year. One report estimates that Amazon was responsible for 465 million pounds of plastic packaging waste in 2019 alone.[1]
Plastic is already flooding our oceans and harming our communities. We need to stop the flow of plastic waste as soon as possible.
Tell Amazon to reduce its massive amounts of waste by cutting out single-use plastic packaging.

Plastic pollution is out of control. Plastic currently makes up 85% of marine litter -- and by 2040, the amount of marine plastic pollution will nearly triple, adding up to 37 million metric tons of plastic into the ocean per year.[2]
And it's not just our oceans that are facing a plastics crisis: the United Nations found that plastics are making their way into our bodies through seafood, drinks, table salt, even through the air.[3] From microplastics to the chemical additives in packaging, plastic waste is a toxic problem that is filling more and more of our oceans and our bodies.
Scientists are constantly finding new ways plastic is harming us. But companies like Amazon continue to ignore the research and still use massive amounts of single-use plastics -- destroying our planet under the guise of convenience.
We know how dangerous plastic is. Now it's time to move beyond the single-use plastics we just don't need.
Join us by telling Amazon to end its plastic waste: Add your name today.

Thanks in large part to the work of PIRG and our supporters, 33% of Americans now live in a state with a ban on one or more types of single-use plastics.[4] But in order to end the plastic waste crisis, we need to tackle the problem from every angle.
That's why we're not just working on state plastic bans or federal legislation or targeting one company -- we're dedicated to tackling the plastic crisis every way we can. From passing bag bans and bottle bills to supporting the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act to calling on companies including Amazon, Costco and Whole Foods to end plastic waste, we're committed to moving our country beyond plastic.
Each time a state bans foam containers or plastic bags, and each time a company commits to eliminating its plastic waste, they pave the way for another to follow suit. As one of the largest online retailers in the world, Amazon has the power to not only stop its plastic pollution, but spur the entire industry to do the same.
We're committed to ending the plastic waste crisis, but we need your help. Tell Amazon to take action today.
