Hello friend! Or as we say in our Blackfeet language,
Oki!
If we haven’t met yet, I'm Marci McLean. I’m Amskapi Piikani / Blackfeet, I work in Native advocacy and education here in Montana, and I’m proud to call myself a day one endorser of Cora’s campaign.
Native Americans have suffered some of the highest COVID death rates in the country, and Montana’s own Blackfeet Nation was hit particularly hard.
From the beginning, Cora was on the frontlines working side-by-side with our communities to make sure we had a voice at the table and were prioritized in the state’s COVID-19 response. She did more than any one individual in our state to deliver critical relief, guidance and care to our Tribal communities throughout this crisis. She helped fill a void that no one else could.
Cora’s been partnering with Indigenous communities for decades. She understands and respects the importance of Tribal consultation and government-to-government relations.
Cora is up against a major fundraising deadline at the end of this month and can use some additional support. Please join me in supporting her campaign by making a donation of $3 today.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
On a personal note, I know Cora comes from a family of humble, hardworking people who taught her how to respect Indigenous people and love our public lands.
She’ll be a fierce advocate for Montanans in Congress – on public lands, health care, housing, and more.
If you can, please make a donation of any amount to Cora’s campaign before this deadline.
Thank you,
Marci McLean
