The infrastructure law will bring critical funding to your community.
AFSCME Family,
The historic bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed by Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden this year is making a huge difference for AFSCME members and the communities we serve. With unprecedented investments in public services, the infrastructure law means better funding, more staff, safer workplaces and the resources we need to do our jobs right.
Among many other priorities, the infrastructure law includes funding to:
Replace aging school buses with low- or no-emission vehicles
Replace lead pipes in water systems throughout the country
Repair the nation’s aging bridges and other infrastructure priorities
Renew public transportation with new railcars and more
The new law will make a difference for AFSCME members everywhere, and we want to hear how it will affect your work.
Whether this law is a chance for your department to add much-needed staff, or whether you hope to get funding for a long-neglected project, we want to hear about it! So take a few minutes to tell us your story today — we make it simple.
Thank you for your service and for all you do for your community and your AFSCME family.
In solidarity,
Lee Saunders
AFSCME President
