Before I officially shut it down for Holiday family-time, I wanted to give one last update since the 2022 Legislative Session starts the week after New Years. Things are already flying fast and furiously, I have already filed a major bipartisan update to the state's cannabis laws, criminal justice reform legislation, and a bill to help small business home kitchens get up and running, in addition to affordable housing, Veteran, and transportation projects throughout Brandon, Riverview, and Tampa Bay.
But first a reminder, if you plan on hitting the road this Christmas, dial *347 if you need a Road Ranger. I'm doing everything possible to fix our crumbling roads and bridges, and thanks to the bipartisan infrastructure bill we are doing just that. But Commissioner Stacey White and others have so badly neglected transportation for so long now that accidents are bound to happen this holiday season. I was rear-ended sitting at a traffic light on Bloomingdale last week and I don't want you to end up stranded like I was! Pro-tip: save *347 in your phone now!
It was a wonderful break last week to go visit Kids Community College in Riverview to talk with their 7th grade civics classes about my job as a Representative, my service in the military, and how I'm able to pass bills and make changes that better our community. Thanks for having me!
My bipartisan cannabis bill is gaining steam! This is a great bill that will save patients 60% on the price of their medicine, bring back telehealth appointments that so many folks came to rely on during the pandemic, and keep harmful products out of the hands of kids. It's a true bipartisan effort and you can help me get it over the finish line by clicking this link and sending Chair Robinson an e-mail urging him to hear HB679 at its first committee stop.
You probably saw that a five-year prison sentence was recently handed down for one of the insurrectionists who stormed our Capitol. What you may have missed was that Florida accounts for the most charges related to the attack on our democracy of any state.
That is precisely why I urge you to commend Rep. Spencer Roach, a Fort Myers Republican, for condemning the attack and sentence. We often don't agree, but our Democracy is on the line and courage should be commended or there is no incentive left to bring us back from the brink.
That said, if you want to help me beat the folks who are enabling those that stormed our Capitol, attacked our democracy, and continue to try and pass bills that will allow them to overthrow future elections, I need your help:

Ok, and if I didn't lose you by asking for your help, I have a message that someone out there needs right now. The holiday's can be a tough time of year for many of us, our loved ones, and friends. If you need someone to talk with; call me at 813.856.1212 😀
Seriously though, it is a beautiful time of year at the Winthrop Plaza in Riverview:
And lastly, it is family time. Lola broke into my phone and proved that she's already better at social media than her dad:
Merry Christmas!!!
