Other opportunities to engage in the climate movement:
KNKX weather and climate reporting petition: Weather reporters play an important role in informing listeners/viewers about the way global warming is affecting weather. But many ignore or minimize the influence of global warming extreme weather events -- hurricanes, floods, record heat, wildfires. Here in Washington State, KNKX Jazz Blues and NPR News radio has a feature called "Weather With Cliff Mass" where climate's impact on weather is consistently ignored or minimized. If you want KNKX to give us weather news in a way that helps us understand the impact of climate change, please sign and share this petition! https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/accurate-weather-and-climate-reporting-on-knkx-jazz-blues-npr-news
From the Sunrise movement, Seattle Hub:
Our house is on fire and Washington State’s senators aren’t putting it out! We must convince them to extinguish the fire by supporting the Green New Deal. But that will take large-scale, disruptive, direct action - and we need your help! Can you join us in planning our largest action to date to put out the fire?
From Environment Washington:
The single largest source of global warming pollution in America is from our cars and trucks.1
There's no two ways about it: If we're going to turn the tide on climate change, we need to tackle transportation -- and clean, electric vehicles are a big piece of that puzzle. That's why Environment Washington is pushing for our state to join the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program. We know that legislators will only take action if they hear from constituents like you -- add your name today.
From #CutTheChaseChallenge: Cut up your card & demand that JPMorgan Chase stop funding fossil fuels:
JPMorgan Chase is now the planet’s largest funder of Arctic drilling, deepwater oil exploration, and the largest funder of coal and tar sands in the U.S. Massive infrastructure projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline depend almost entirely on loans from major financial institutions. By cutting off the flow of cash, we can cut off the flow of oil and gas. Here is one way you can take action: The #CutTheChaseChallenge kick-off social media storm will now be Monday, November 22!
Looking ahead to December –
