Dear Supporter,

This morning, in the spirit of the year-end holidays, I want to take a moment to acknowledge that The Sentry would not be able to do what it does without the trust and support of all of our partners and donors, including you.

In 2021, The Sentry successfully focused its investigative and policy efforts on creating accountability for human rights crimes and corruption in the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, and Zimbabwe. We exposed the networks and enablers that profit from violence and repression in these countries, and we generated creative policy ideas that banks and governments have used to take real action.

Just in the past couple of weeks, The Sentry's persistent investigations and advocacy resulted in new and updated network sanctions against Dan Gertler, Benjamin Bol Mel, Al-Cardinal, and Valery Zakharov, four key enablers of corruption in Africa-showing that even when corrupt businessmen try to buy political influence or deploy dirty tricks to evade sanctions, they can't outrun The Sentry's dogged investigators.

*We are proud to share these and other key impacts of our work this year in the **Annual Impact Report 2021* [ [link removed] ]*.*

Moreover, I am grateful to announce that from today until the end of the year, a group of generous donors has agreed to match every donation we receive so that we can continue, in 2022, to fight the corruption that lies at the root of so much suffering around the world. Any gift you give until midnight on New Year's Eve will be doubled. [ [link removed] ]

Thank you for your continued support,

Justyna Gudzowska
Director of Illicit Finance Policy
