Hi all,
We’ve made the decision to shift to a virtual event for Greg Casar today at 6 PM due to rising COVID-19 rates. Greg is a Working Families Party and Justice Democrats-backed candidate for Congress, current City Council Member in Austin Texas, a friend, and one the new leaders I am most excited about in 2022.

It will be an interesting and meaningful discussion about Greg’s campaign and the fight ahead to defend our democracy, protecting abortion rights, working towards a Green New Deal and more! Hope you can join us,
Brad

It’s no secret that Texas has some of the worst laws in the country when it comes to voting, reproductive rights, immigration, labor, and education. When I worry about the state of our democracy (which these days is daily), the politics and policies coming out of Texas are often on my list.
But Texas demographics are changing, and it’s progressive leaders like my good friend Greg Casar who have the potential to shift things for the better, for all of us.
Through our work together with Local Progress, I’ve seen Greg take on big strategic campaigns, in collaboration with local advocates and fight relentlessly for justice and his constituents.
Please join me and a fantastic host committee to welcome Greg to NYC on Monday December 20, and support his race for Congress. [[link removed]]

Greg is a native Texan, a son of Mexican immigrants, and a community organizer. As a City Council Member in Austin, representing the city’s lowest income district, he has fought and won big progressive policies on workers rights, housing, and more.
Despite the uphill battle in Texas, Greg successfully raised wages for thousands of workers, ended all personal marijuana arrests in his city, and passed the first paid sick days ordinance in the South. Greg is already endorsed by both the Working Families Party and local labor unions, and he's leading in the first poll of the race.
Anxious about the future of our democracy? Want to do one thing today to give it a fighting chance?

Thank you,
Brad
