JEREMY SWAYMAN
Congratulations Jeremy Swayman on being named the ASHOF Alaska Athlete of the Week!
The University of Maine goaltender turned aside 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 road win over Vermont in the Hockey East conference. The junior from Anchorage ranks third in the country with 202 saves in six games. He has a 4-2 record with a career-best 2.20 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.
The winner is selected by a panel each Friday with the winner announced Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Sports Guys on CBS Sports Radio 590AM and 96.7FM. View past winners here.

Kikkan Randall
You'd never know Anchorage's Kikkan Randall was a rookie at the New York City Marathon.
Racing her first road marathon, the five-time Olympian and 2018 gold medalist finished 51st among more than 22,000 women in 2 hours, 55 minutes and 12 seconds.
What's more, Randall, who graduated from East High and currently lives in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, accomplished a rare "negative split" by running her second half three minutes faster than her first half.

Derryk Snell
Montana State University freshman Derryk Snell of Chugiak found his way into the end zone for the first time in a 42-7 victory over Southern Utah at Bobcat Stadium.
The 6-foot-2 tight end caught a 10-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter to make the score 27-0.

Brenner Furlong
Dakota State University sophomore Brenner Furlong of Soldotna carried the ball 17 times for a career-high 119 yards in a 30-18 loss to Valley City State in Madison, South Dakota.
This was the first time the running back cracked the 100-yard benchmark in 15 career games.
Furlong, of SoHi fame, has racked up a career-best 245 yards on the ground this season compared to 107 as a freshman.
He owns three career touchdowns, including one on special teams.
His 17 carries were four shy of his career high set in last year's finale.

Malia Miller
Bellevue College has one of the top-ranked women's soccer teams in the NWAC, but Juneau's Malia Miller brings a special X favor to the equation.
So much so the team is 8-0 when she registers a point.
The freshman forward bagged a goal and assist to fuel Bellevue's 5-1 win over Lower Columbia in Longview, Washington.

Christian Hausinger
Anchorage's Christian Hausinger turned in the most prolific performance of his college career with a hat trick to carry the University of Wisconsin-River Falls hockey team to a 3-2 win over visiting Finlandia.
The junior defenseman capped his big night by netting the game-winning goal with just eight seconds left in overtime.
Hausinger, of Dimond High fame, in one game matched his goal total from the previous 57 games combined.
He scored his first goal came on the power play early in the second period. He added his second score late in the second period before adding his third in OT.

Kendall Kramer
Kendall Kramer of Fairbanks went out with a bang in her last high school cross country running race.
Kramer, a three-time Alaska state high school cross country champion, dominated the Girls Division 3/4/5 Individual Sweepstakes race at the Mt. Sac XC Invite Oct. 25 in California, which was established in 1948 and is billed as "the world's largest XC competition."

Will Ross
Will Ross of Anchorage placed 23rd among 390 men at the XTerra World Championship in Kapalua, Hawaii.
Competing in the pro division, Ross finished the race billed as the world's premier off-road triathlon in 2 hours, 52 minutes and 55 seconds. He recorded splits of 25:15 for the 1-mile swim, 1:35:45 for the 19.2-mile bike and 50:02 for the 6.5-mile run.
"My goal was to get through the swim in one piece, smash the bike and survive the run," said Ross, who dealt with a plantar fasciitis injury in training. "I'm proud of my effort during the race, but not satisfied with my performance."
Ross' wife, Andrea Kettler, finished in 3:53:04 to place eighth in the women's 35-39 division. Rose Garner of Anchorage clocked 4:41:34 to take eighth in the women's 50-54 division.

Danielle VanOrd
Anchorage's Danielle VanOrd led the Western Oregon University women's soccer team to a historic victory.
The junior forward bagged her first goal of the season to provide a 1-0 win over Concordia, snapping the team's four-game winless streak at Tuominen Yard in Portland, Oregon.

Jalyn Osborne
Anchorage's Jalyn Osborne might share the setter position for the Eastern Arizona College volleyball team.
But she's also playing a starring role.
Osborne, of Dimond High fame, is among the league leaders in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference in assists and aces.
Sharing the setter position in a 5-2 offense, the freshman playmaker ranks 11th with 389 assists and 18th with 21 aces.
Osborne has racked up double-digit assists in 23 of 25 matches. Five times she has served two aces in a match.

Casey Bailey
Casey Bailey of Anchorage has set the ECHL ablaze with six goals in his first six games to lead the league in scoring.
The 28-year-old forward with the South Carolina Stingrays ranks second in the league with seven points.
The Alaskan's hot start has helped the Stingrays post a 5-1 record for 10 points, good enough for third out of 26 teams in the ECHL.

Rebecca Syrup
Anchorage's Rebecca Syrup put the finishing touches on a dominating performance by the Army-West Point women's 15s rugby team in a 55-14 win over Quinnipiac in Hamden, Connecticut.
The sophomore scored a five-point try in the 68th minute for her second career "touchdown" of the season in her relatively new rugby career.

Qyntyn Pilcher
Anchorage's Qyntyn Pilcher for the first time in his Sierra College career threw multiple touchdown passes in the same game.
The freshman quarterback tossed scoring strikes of 32 and 24 yards in a 45-14 loss to American River in the California Community College Athletic Association.
Pilcher, of West High fame, finished 8-for-16 with 118 yards in the pocket.

Amu Aukusitino
At 24, Amu Aukusitino of Anchorage is older than most college football players and so he savors every moment on the field.
That desire and dedication was rewarded in a big way as the Colorado State University-Pueblo senior defensive back returned an interception for a touchdown in a 52-12 victory over Adams State
Aukusitino's pick-six went for 72 yards and gave the ThunderWolves their record sixth interception on the day.
