In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my re-election campaign. Please give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important.

Here is the truth:

Tonight at midnight we close the books on our weekly fundraising drive.

This one is important, because historically December is a tough month for fundraising. Especially in the second half of the month when people understandably tune out politics.

But that means we really need a strong finish to hit our goals. Because while a lot of our supporters may be tuned out, those spending big to beat us are not. They see this as an opportunity. 

So we still need about 5,000 donations TODAY to reach our goals. And there’s only one way that happens…together.

Please split a $5 contribution between my re-election campaign and Senator Shaheen before midnight. It all adds up when everyone is chipping in.
