In the richest country on Earth, no one should be hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty. The planet shouldn’t be burning while politicians take money from Chevron and billionaires take joy rides to space.
Is this belief radical? Of course not. It’s common sense, but as the saying goes, “Common sense isn’t common”...at least in the world of corporate-funded politics.
If we can afford $1.6 trillion for the F-35, a plane that can barely fly, then we can afford to end homelessness and poverty in this country. We need a national housing program, Medicare for All, and a federal jobs program. We need to end the use of fossil fuels and transition quickly to green energy.
