This morning, the former president went on Fox News to not only spread a new conspiracy theory, but also call for me to be thrown out of Congress and prosecuted:

“He should be thrown out of Congress. And he should be thrown out of Congress and also prosecuted for what he said about me.”

I’m not going to respond to each of the former president’s falsehoods about me. It would simply take too much of my time. But they are lies. From a small and desperate man.

Here’s the truth:

Trump solicited Russian help in his first election, used it, and then lied to cover it up. He then tried to coerce Ukraine’s help in the next election by withholding hundreds of millions in military aid until they agreed to smear Joe Biden.

He lost that election, and tried to overturn the results. And when that didn’t work, he incited an insurrection at the Capitol.

Now he wants to remove from office anyone who will stand up to him. And have them prosecuted. Just like a despot.

Already, Republicans are threatening to remove me from my committees in 2022 if they take over the House. And Trump’s latest comments will only intensify those false attacks on me and our work.
