John, I’m sure your inbox is full of end-of-year fundraising requests -- but this one is different.
I’m not running for Congress out of personal ambition.
I’m not running for Congress to play partisan political games.
I’m not running for Congress to win the favor of special interests.
I’m running for Congress because I’ve lived through the struggles everyday families face, and I believe wholeheartedly that we deserve a fighting chance at a good life.
I know we aren’t going to get that with Republican Congressman Don Bacon in charge.
He favored tax cuts for billionaires and corporations. He voted against COVID relief. He voted to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
His votes hurt all of us and I refuse to just settle for that. That’s why I’m running to unseat him and why I need your help to keep my campaign running. I can’t bankroll my own campaign but I’m facing a steep goal today: $11,056 by midnight. If I miss it, I’ll be forced to make devastating budget cuts. So I’m humbly asking: John, if you believe in my campaign, will you chip in $10 to keep me going? >>
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Tony
P.S. I'm sharing this message from my wife, Lauren, to show you what this campaign means to us.
John, I know it’s usually my husband Tony asking you for money.
But today, I told Tony I’d be the one to ask, and explain what this campaign means to us.
So, yes -- I’m about to ask for $10 before midnight. Let me explain why. >>
John, now you know a bit about Tony’s amazing track record.
But I want to be clear: running for Congress isn’t just about politics for him.
It’s personal.
It’s rooted in his experience growing up in poverty and fighting to defy the odds.
It’s rooted in the lessons he learned as a public school teacher, working with kids like him.
And it’s rooted in his desire to leave the world a better place for our kids, Ava and Luca.
John, I know you work hard for your money, and I wish I didn’t have to ask.
But if Tony misses his $11,056 goal, he’ll have to make serious budget cuts to his campaign.
And it will be that much harder for him to flip this important seat for Democrats.
I’m so proud of Tony. I hope you are too.
Thanks for supporting my husband,
Lauren (and Ava and Luca!)
