Hey, John. We’re getting closer and closer to 2022, and I’m taking stock. And the more I think about it, the more it seems like one of the biggest problems facing us is political polarization.
From the very beginning, this campaign has sought to address that crisis by doing things differently, because we really are all stranded together on this earth with rising fascism and a climate crisis rapidly engulfing us. But the more polarized we become, the harder it gets to solve these problems.
Will you chip in a buck or two to help us find a way to talk to one another again so that we can actually get things done for Floridians?

As you’ve probably noticed, this campaign may sound a little different. I may not use every catchphrase you wanna hear, and I may come up with a few of my own! That’s by design, so that we can reach people who’ve never felt included in politics, provide a little levity, and bring people together for a common cause in the process. Because this campaign is not about me—it is truly about us.
When I say “us” I don’t just mean progressive Democrats. I don’t just mean Democrats. The reality is that, in order to enact progress we need to be challenged, regularly and without vitriol or nastiness. I mean folks who want a better life and who—whether they realize it or not—will choose love and solidarity over division and hatred. I’m in this thing because I really do believe that most people will choose love and solidarity. Otherwise, what would be the point?
But let’s be absolutely clear about one thing: That doesn’t mean we’re not going to hold bad actors and supporters of an armed insurrection accountable. It just means, at the end of the day, we have to run a campaign that’s in tune with what people actually need from Washington: affordable healthcare, climate action, protecting people from COVID-19, saving our democracy, and a whole lot more.
So, can you give $5, $10, or $50, if you’re ready and able, to help send me to Congress and actually get stuff done?

P.S. Polar drifting is also an issue we should be concerned about but that’s another email.
