In my nearly 30 years in journalism, I've never been so terrified
about the future of our democracy and the planet.
At the same time, I've never been more proud of the work our team is
doing here at Common Dreams.
In the face of the escalating climate emergency, outrageous economic
inequality, and the rising tide of authoritarianism around the world,
corporate media outlets continue with business as usual-chasing
profits, but failing to cover vital issues with the necessary urgency.
Corporate-funded journalism cannot cover these issues adequately because

problems demand.
