Voting is the very foundation of our democracy—it’s our best tool to hold our elected officials accountable and chart a new course for the future. 

 

But even today, many people can’t exercise this fundamental right in a meaningful way because they can’t get the time off work.

 

That’s why I introduced a bill to make election days in May, August, and November state holidays.

 

With local elections in many of our communities across Downriver tomorrow, this message is more important than ever. It’s time we make voting more accessible, and with this legislation, we have an opportunity to expand access to voting across our state. 

 

I promise to do everything I can to make voting easier in Michigan. Thanks for all you do and make sure to go exercise your right to vote tomorrow!
