John, I'm sharing my notes from a recent meeting with NDRC senior staff:
-- NDRC President Kelly Burton reported that the work we've been doing over the last four years is paying off in states like Iowa and Colorado, where nonpartisan redistricting processes have resulted in fair maps
-- Same in states like Pennsylvania, where the Democratic governor just signaled that he will reject map manipulation
-- And our litigation team reported that voters have filed lawsuits against gerrymandered maps in North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas
Let me pause here and ask -- can you pitch in $5 or more to help the NDRC keep fighting for fair maps?

Now for some less-good news. Across the board, Republicans are trying to pull the same gerrymanders they did in 2011, or even worse ones. (This made my jaw drop: In Ohio, a state about evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, they drew themselves 12 out of 15 congressional districts, or 80 percent). So the fight continues, and our finance team emphasized the need to keep fundraising on track. Our final deadline of the year is coming up in just a couple of weeks.
So there you have it -- those are my notes. I hope they were helpful! I'll make one more ask on behalf of our finance staff because they seemed stressed. Would you be able to pitch in $5 or more today? [[link removed]
Thanks for being in the fight with us,
Ben
