Dear friend -- On Thursday, the Senate Parliamentarian rejected our latest proposal for comprehensive immigration reform – and while this is discouraging, we can’t give up now. When voters delivered the House, the Senate, and the White House we made a promise: we would provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS recipients, farmworkers, and essential workers. And now – it’s time to deliver. I’m proud to stand with immigrants, unions, and my colleagues in Congress and call on the Senate to continue to work until we keep our promise and deliver a pathway to citizenship. Undocumented immigrants face unsafe work conditions, precarious living situations, and are too often excluded from crucial relief. Documentation and a pathway to citizenship would help mitigate the circumstances that create these unsafe conditions, and it would be good for our communities and our economy. Millions of immigrants are counting on us to fight for them – like we said we would. Together, we can make real change.
