This week, I pushed back against the woke left’s efforts to cancel Christmas. I also called on Democrats to actually focus on the issues Americans care about - like rising energy prices - instead of divisive messaging bills in Congress.

I also voted against raising the debt limit this week. Democrats in Congress are spending trillions of dollars while inflation is out of control, and they’re trying to spend trillions more in their socialist “Build Back Better” spending plan. Democrats should have attached the debt limit increase to their spending plan, which they could have passed with a simple majority under the reconciliation process.

While I believe there would have been serious consequences had the United States actually defaulted on our debt, we should have forced Democrats to attach the increase to their Build Back Better plan.

That would have forced them to waste their last reconciliation maneuver on passing their spending plan as well as the debt limit increase, which may have forced them to lower the cost of the socialist spending plan and cut many of the more dangerous provisions out of that bill.

It turns out, when you try to cancel Christmas, you’re going to get some serious blowback from the Pope.

The woke left has been trying to cancel Christmas - even the word “Christmas” - for years. But now the Pope is fighting back.

The European Commissioner for equality - yes, that is a real position - said in a leaked memo that we should stop saying “Merry Christmas” in an effort to promote “inclusive communication.”

Pope Francis was asked about this and had the perfect response, saying many authoritarians in history have tried to cancel Christmas and they aren’t the kind of people whose lead we should follow. Pope Francis pointed to the Nazis as an example, and said that the European Union should “be careful not to be vehicles of ideological colonization.”

In other words, don’t let the woke cancel Christmas.

Since day one in Congress, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have made it a priority to kill the American oil and gas industry. They cancelled the Keystone pipeline, outlawed new oil and gas leases on federal lands and waters, and made it nearly impossible to invest in new oil and gas projects.

And now, they’re actually blaming our energy producers for the rising cost of energy. It’s shameless.

That’s why I’m fighting back. I introduced legislation to overturn President Biden’s ban on new oil and gas leases, and am using my position on the Energy and Commerce Committee to defend American energy from the left’s relentless assault.

But we’re not going to make our way out of this energy crisis while Nancy Pelosi is in charge of the House. So I need your help to fire Speaker Pelosi, take back the House, and ensure we reverse the anti-American assault on our oil and gas producers.
