Bees are an essential part of our food system. In fact, bees are responsible for one out of every four bites of food we eat.
But right now we’re in the midst of a massive global bee die-off, caused in large part by the overuse of pesticides that are poisonous to bees. These pesticides are leading to bee colonies collapsing all over the world. To save bees, we must end the use of bee-killing pesticides.

Scientists have uncovered a mountain of evidence showing that a class of pesticides called neonicotinoids (neonics) are a leading cause of bee die-offs, driving bumblebees and other bee species to the brink of extinction.
These widely-used pesticides cause nervous system problems in bees that stop them from pollinating, communicating and breeding as they should, and they weaken bees’ immune systems. Congress can take action to stop bee-killing pesticides, and we’re backing efforts at the state and local levels to ban neonics and give bees a lifeline. But we need you with us in this fight, John.
