Folks, I have spent my career fighting to defend the sacred right to vote. That’s why I’m proud to have marched in Washington to demand that the Senate pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Since the 2020 election, hundreds of restrictive voting laws have been introduced at the state level. These changes target people of color, the elderly, the disabled, and other marginalized communities — proving that old battles have become new again.
Make no mistake. We may not be counting marbles or taking literacy tests, but voter suppression is alive and well. It’s up to the Senate to put an end to it. Will you sign my petition to let the Senate know it’s time to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act?

I took to the stage in Washington to explain just how necessary this legislation is – it’s our opportunity to secure voting rights for generations to come.
The bill includes a few key provisions that are essential for protecting the sacred right to vote, including:
* Restoring and strengthening protections from the original Voting Rights Act
* Requiring states with a recent history of voter discrimination to obtain pre-clearance before making any changes to their voting laws
* Eliminating the heightened standard for challenging racially discriminatory voting laws
We have to take a stand if we want to protect our right to vote. Click below to sign my petition and tell the Senate it’s time to pass H.R.4.
