Social media companies have made some progress in stopping the spread of harmful misinformation and disinformation on their platforms.

But little to nothing has been done to tackle misinformation in languages other than English, and that’s allowing pernicious lies about everything — from the COVID-19 vaccine to the election — spread unchecked on Spanish-language and other language posts.

When lives and livelihoods are at stake, allowing lies and misinformation to spread online is unconscionable. Big Tech needs to act, and they need to act now.

Join my call to demand that Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of Big Tech do everything they can to combat Spanish-language misinformation on their platforms. [[link removed]]

Spanish-language moderation efforts are not keeping pace with its English-language counterparts, and frankly, that’s extremely concerning.

Social media users, regardless of the language they speak, should have the same access to truthful information as English speakers.

Thank you for getting involved, and I’ll keep you updated on our progress.

Con gratitud,

Ben Ray
