For more than three decades, NIJC has been a leader in protecting the rights of refugees by providing excellent and affordable immigration legal services and we’re ready to respond to this moment. We’re providing legal orientations for Afghans resettling in Illinois and workshops for people who are applying for asylum, so they have the tools and information they need to pursue a safe future in the United States. We’re working with our partner organizations to build capacity to serve as many people as possible. We’re developing resources to make sure that NIJC can respond to any new options for immigration relief that Congress makes available to Afghans and help Afghans who are ready to apply for other types of status for themselves and their families.
