The Biden administration said it has evacuated nearly 500 U.S.
citizens from Afghanistan since the U.S.'s chaotic withdrawal on
Aug. 31. The numbers are drastically higher than the estimates
President Biden gave regarding the number of Americans left behind in
Afghanistan after U.S. forces left the country.
Judicial Watch is fighting for records on the Biden administration’s
withdrawal from Afghanistan, and its “indirect” funding of the Taliban,
a series of events which Fitton describes as “the most humiliating defeat
in the history of the United States of America.”
"No
one will ever forget the images of Afghanis falling from and clinging to
our military aircraft,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
“Adding to the Afghan scandal, photos and video of this catastrophe are
now being hidden, contrary to the law, from the American people.”
Records show Special Inspector General for Afghanistan John Sopko’s
opposition to the Biden administration’s order to remove Internet access
to hundreds of pages of public reports. “These extraordinary emails
document a cover-up and unprecedented government censorship to protect Joe
Biden and his administration from further humiliation over its surrender in
Afghanistan,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
