Hi John,

I’m not going to sugar-coat anything here. The income divide is making it even harder to get by in our country. As working families continue to struggle--many with two or three jobs--the quality of life is unfortunately decreasing because too many of our lawmakers speak for corporations and not us.

Too often I hear from folks at meet and greets that they are struggling to afford their every day. We have a system that largely benefits the top earners, while the rest of us struggle to pay for rent, student loans, groceries, child care, health care, and more.

I’m in this race because for far too long our representatives in Washington have ignored the needs of working people.

Here’s what I am fighting for and what we need to do:

We need a $15 an hour minimum wage
We need to pass Medicare for All
We need to build a green economy that will create good paying jobs
We need to bolster unions
We need to protect Social Security

If you’re in this fight with me, chip in here today.

We expect our representatives in Washington to take bold action to protect us and our families. But when you look at who funds their campaigns, it’s clear why on some issues our legislators have stayed quiet, refusing to stand up for working people.

I believe that with the right people around the table, government can and will work for all of us, and that’s exactly why I’m in this fight.

Chip in today so we can win this race and continue fighting for working people.

Onward,
Marie
