Dear John,
I know I've reached out a few times this week, but there's a very urgent reason. Actually, three reasons:
- One is that Alzheimer's disease is a public health crisis that will cost the nation $355 billion in 2021 alone — and as much as $1.1 trillion by 2050.
- The second is that hope is on the horizon — in the form of more than 750 active best-of-field research projects in 39 countries around the globe.
- And the third is that a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous, but who is committed to pushing our fight forward, has pledged to match all gifts, up to $200,000 — if we raise the same amount by December 31.
With their matching gift, this donor will support the Tau Pipeline Enabling Program (T-PEP), a funding initiative to accelerate drug development breakthroughs that could help mitigate the toxic effects of tau protein "tangles" in the brain. Because tau tangles are implicated in a number of neurodegenerative disorders, the research made possible by T-PEP could potentially benefit individuals living with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia and more.
But I've noticed you haven't yet taken advantage of this special $200,000 Holiday Match Challenge and wanted to give you a chance to make your gift go twice as far to provide care and support, and accelerate crucial Alzheimer's research.
But that's not all. By making your holiday gift today, you'll help to make sure no one faces Alzheimer's alone — so please rush your first gift now.
Your generosity not only ensures promising research continues, but it helps us provide high-quality care and support through channels including:
- Our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) staffed with specialists and master's-level clinicians ready to provide answers, confidential care consultations, crisis assistance and more, day or night.
- Our expanded online resources available at alz.org.
- Alzheimer's Navigator®, an innovative online tool that helps families create a personalized action plan around symptoms, safety, legal planning, driving, care options and more.
But we're also looking ahead to next year — and to all that we must do together.
John, when you give today, you can double your impact on our work to provide compassionate care and support — while also accelerating global progress toward new methods of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Please help bring us closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia by donating now.
Hurry: Limited time to be part of our $200,000 Holiday Match Challenge |
