As you know, one of my top priorities in Congress is working to support children and families. I believe that starts with advocating for maternal health, especially for Black Americans, who face the highest pregnancy and childbirth mortality rates in the nation.
To this end, I am so proud to be an original cosponsor of the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act of 2021, the first bill of which was signed into law earlier this month. But we still have more to do — one of the reasons I was so excited to vote for President Biden’s Build Back Better Act was the inclusion of $3 billion in maternal health initiatives.
When we invest in our children, we invest in our future. I am proud to work every day to support parents and children through crucial legislation such as the Child Tax Credit, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, the Build Back Better Act, and the Black Maternal Health Momnibus.
We need folks in Congress willing to stand up for our most vulnerable communities. To keep me in office doing this important work, can you chip in to my re-election campaign today?
