"Supreme Court conservatives look ready to gut Roe v. Wade," CNBC reports as Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization heats up in Trump's conservative-packed SCOTUS.
Look, Brett Kavanaugh thinks abortion rights will end in 2022 as “clinics in 22 states would shut down,” barring “42 percent of American women of childbearing age” from life-saving abortion access when Dobbs is decided, The New York Times reports.
But if abortion rights champion Val Demings outs Marco Rubio in Florida's Senate race, Democrats will buck Kavanaugh's Court. Demings will expand our razor-thin 50/50 Senate Majority to break Mitch McConnell's sexist filibuster, then codify Roe v. Wade into federal law, guaranteeing women the right to choose.
In August, Demings trailed Rubio by just two points—but the latest St. Pete poll shows that the blank check Rubio's millionaire donors cut him to crush Demings and end abortion in 2022 is already paying off, and Rubio is ahead once again.
We will do everything we can to protect Val Demings and end the sexist GOP's near-50-year war on women's rights. But right now we need to send Demings twice as much support as usual, and we're still $6,000 short from our fundraising goal heading into the upcoming FEC filing deadline.
