This week, we learned that the Senate plans to further delay consideration
of the Build Back Better Act to potentially take up voting rights
legislation. This is a false choice. We need both.

We must reject the notion that we have to choose between protecting our
democracy and investing in our workers and families — we can and we must
do both, and our communities can’t wait.

I’m calling on the Senate to stay in session — for as long as necessary —
to pass the Build Back Better Act AND critical voting rights legislation,
immediately. But I can’t do this alone. [ [link removed] ]If you’re able, will you chip
in $3 or more to keep the pressure on and deliver the change
our communities deserve and demand?

The people delivered Democrats the House, the Senate, and the White House,
and that must mean more than just a talking point.

We cannot — and must not — allow individuals backed by special interests
to hold hostage urgent investments in paid family and medical leave,
universal pre-K, transit, housing, home care, climate action, immigrant
justice, and more.

Every day without action is one more day without the change our
communities were promised. [ [link removed] ]If you’re able, a $3
contribution from you right now will fuel our urgent work to get the Build
Back Better Act and voting rights legislation across the finish line
before the year ends.

Our communities have waited far too long, and the people deserve nothing
less.

In solidarity,

Ayanna
