Voting is fundamental to our democracy, folks.
And yet in states like Montana, Republican politicians passed partisan laws aimed at making it harder for certain groups of people to vote. If you are a college student or call Indian Country home, they’ve put up new roadblocks for you.
That’s why my colleagues and I introduced the Freedom to Vote Act in the Senate earlier this year, and it’s why it needs to become law, along with the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
These are critical pieces of legislation that would protect access to the ballot box, safeguard our free and fair elections, and ensure every eligible voter can make their voice heard. If you agree that we need to act on this immediately, I hope you’ll add your name to my petition:
Enough is enough, folks. The right to vote is a cornerstone of our democracy, and it’s well past time we took steps to protect it.
Thanks for making your voice heard on this,
Jon
