Friend,

The one-year anniversary of the January 6 attack on our seat of government is just a few weeks away.

Throughout the past year, the same faction of far-right extremists that attacked our country has been hard at work restricting our freedom to vote, attacking fair voting districts, and quietly preparing future attempts to sabotage free and fair elections. They are, without a doubt, the greatest threat our democracy has ever faced.

So this January 6, people across race, place, party, and background will be holding candlelight vigils across the country to say: In America, voters decide the outcome of elections. You won’t want to miss the insights of Mayor Svante Myrick, Executive Director of People For’s Foundation, alongside Congressman Adam Schiff and other leading advocates as they discuss on a movement call this Sunday how you can get involved with a vigil near you.

Join us on Sunday, December 19, at 4 PM ET (2 PM CT / 1 PM PT) for an activist call about the January 6: Day of Remembrance events >>

We must resist the forces that led to the insurrection and that are still an ongoing threat to our democracy. Our elected leaders must pass urgent legislation to protect our country from anti-democratic forces that are continuing their efforts to destroy it. These vigils will be in remembrance of those lives lost and traumatized AND a call to action for protecting our democracy in every way we can.

Together, we can make sure our elected leaders pass federal legislation to protect our freedom to vote, fair and free elections, and our very democracy. If you want your community to be a part of this movement in defense of our democracy, please join our movement call at this critical time!

RSVP now for Sunday’s activist call to action for anniversary events on and around January 6! >>

In unity,

– Sarah, Digital Campaigns Associate

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.

People For is fighting back every day with:

✔ Grassroots organizing
✔ Lobbying and advocacy
✔ Research and education
✔ Voter mobilization
✔ And more…

But we can’t do this vital work without the robust grassroots financial support of our members and activists.

Please help fund the fight for progress and stand against right-wing extremism with an urgently needed donation to People For today>>
