Governor Kemp announced the news yesterday – it’s a HUGE WIN for Georgia.
Rivian Automotive, Inc. is officially set to invest $5 billion to open a 16-million-square foot manufacturing plant on the I-20 corridor to produce its electric adventure vehicles. This represents the single-largest economic development project in Georgia history.
Thanks to Governor Kemp’s leadership we remain the undisputed #1 state for business!
This $5 billion by Rivian investment will create 7,500 jobs for hardworking Georgians, and future plans may create an additional 2,500 jobs. This announcement comes on the heels of new economic development records set during the last fiscal year, when our state attracted $11 billion in new investments and more than 33,000 new jobs were created.
And the latest Georgia Economic Outlook report shows that our economy is on track to EXCEED its pre-pandemic peak and make a FULL RECOVERY by the end of 2022... bouncing back faster than the national economy!
