Last week, New York City joined other liberal strongholds in allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections. These laws cheapen one of the most sacred aspects of American citizenship and undermine the integrity of our electoral process. Sadly, this is par for the course for liberals who have been engaged in a crusade to fundamentally alter our elections. Earlier this year, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that her number one legislative priority was a federal takeover of elections that would implement a one-size-fits-all system and remove countless commonsense guardrails.
Conservatives are committed to preserving the role of state and local governments in administering elections, as well as passing commonsense election reforms, like voter ID requirements. State conservatives will continue fighting so that every legal vote is counted and every effort to undermine our elections is thwarted.
