Friend, The holiday season is the busiest time of year for philanthropy – so we know you’re probably hearing from lots of nonprofits and charitable organizations right now. But we wanted to take a moment to let you know that there are many different, innovative ways you can support our work beyond a standard donation. Here are some opportunities for giving you might not have heard about yet: Gifts of Stock and Securities – Appreciated securities or mutual fund shares that you’ve owned for more than one year are excellent charitable gifts. You’ll receive a charitable income tax deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. Gifts of Real Estate – Gifts of unmortgaged real estate provide a unique giving opportunity and may serve your long-term financial goals while benefiting the SPLC’s current and future work. Donor Advised Funds – Give directly from the donor advised fund on our website, or recommend the SPLC for contributions from your gift fund. Employer Matching – Many employers will match your charitable contribution, doubling your generous contribution and making an even greater impact on our future work. Some companies may even match gifts from retirees, board members, or employees’ spouses and dependent children. Other Workplace Giving – Workplace giving, like the Combined Federal Campaign and United Way, offers a convenient way to support the SPLC. Vehicle Donation Program – The SPLC gladly accepts vehicle donations of cars, trucks, boats, motor homes, and motorcycles. You’ll also receive a charitable income tax deduction. Download a PDF of our donation form here and mail it to us at the address printed on the form. You will receive a letter confirming your gift that can be used for your tax returns. Finally, one of the simplest ways to show your support – free of charge – is to follow us on social media and share our work with your family, friends and networks. We post regularly on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The visibility we gain when our supporters share our work makes a real difference in our ability to continue our movement.
