Friends,
Don’t forget the 350 Fairfax general meeting on Thursday, November 7, at 7:30 pm! This is what’s on the agenda:
-
Learn: Our very special guest speaker will be Tim Whitehouse, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, a national organization in Silver Spring, Maryland, that represents environmental whistleblowers and advocates on behalf of federal, state, and local public servants working on environmental issues. Tim will talk about how climate change science is under systematic attack by the Trump administration and why that matters for local and national decision making.
-
Discuss: We'll check in on how everyone survived the Plastic Free Challenge and talk about next steps for 350 Fairfax’s work around plastic pollution—including the initial successes we’ve had in our Earth Friendly Fairfax restaurant campaign. We’ll also talk about the local elections (DON’T FORGET TO VOTE TOMORROW) and how our advocacy for a Fossil Free Fairfax will proceed in the coming months.
-
Act: Commit to helping us collect signatures for the Fossil Free Fairfax petition. And join our Earth Friendly team getting restaurants to take action to reduce their plastic waste.
RSVP here or on Facebook.
