People For Supporter,

I was proud to join People For President Ben Jealous, along with People
For staff, members, and activists, at the White House for our series of
civil disobedience actions aimed at pushing the Biden administration to
take more of a leadership role in the fight for voting rights...

I was proud that People For and its members lent your support earlier this
year when I joined with fellow Black clergy in Georgia to lead a boycott
of Home Depot over the company’s intentional refusal to speak out against
the Georgia voter suppression law...

I’ve been proud to work with People For the American Way for decades, as a
board member and the founder of People For’s African American Ministers
Leadership Council and African American Ministers In Action.

And I’m proud to continue to stand with People For at every opportunity to
stop the bigotry, hate, and extremism that have become the centerpiece of
the Far Right’s agenda ... and to DEFEND our fragile democracy and our
precious right to vote.

Most of all, as a southern Black preacher who has been in this fight for
my whole life, and can speak firsthand about what it took to go up against
Jim Crow, I’m proud of People For’s courage and spirit.

This multi-racial, multi-generational organization founded by one of the
most diverse dynamic duos imaginable – Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and
Norman Lear – and now led by Ben Jealous, is truly carrying on in the
footsteps of the pantheon of our most revered civil rights leaders and
freedom fighters (so many of them from my home state of Georgia).

I hope YOU are also proud to be part of this project, this movement, this
family known as People For the American Way.

[ [link removed] ]And I hope, if you are, that that you’ll join me in giving your
year-end support to People For with a critically needed end-of-year
donation. Give now and your entire gift by 12/31 will be 3X-MATCHED,
tripling your impact to stop hate and defend democracy>>

Together, we’re making history. And with your continued support, there’s
so much more we need to accomplish ... for our rights, for our democracy,
for the American Way.

Thank you for everything you do and for standing with us in the fight.

Sincerely,

Rev. Tim McDonald
People For Board Co-Chair
Founder, “Souls to the Polls” and People For’s African American Ministers
In Action

. But know that if you leave, it will be harder for you to stay involved with People For the American Way and continue our
crucial work. PFAW is able to win policy battles and elections, and
counter the Right's extremism and hate, because of dedicated
activists like you, and we're always eager to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for your support.
