We will be embarking on new transitions as we head into the new year, and we intend to welcome you back in 2022 with even more resources, support and tools for our fight.

Dear John,

As the year comes to a close, I thank you for your stalwart support of the Texas Freedom Network and the courageous advocacy work that you have supported during a particularly difficult year.

It has been a year filled with surprises and required adaptations, as we’ve continued to navigate a global pandemic and the seemingly endless attempts to strip our communities of basic civil liberties.

At TFN, we’ve also seen quite a bit of change over the year, with staff transitions (we are all incredibly thankful to outreach and advocacy strategist Jules Mandel, who will depart TFN at the end of the year and will be missed, for all of their work.) and the need to be nimble and responsive in our programming to respond to the never-ending attacks on transgender children, voting rights, abortion rights and more.

As we head into the new year, I am excited to take the helm of TFN's organizing department and will soon introduce you to our new organizing team as we prepare to take on the next round of battles after a much-needed holiday break. We intend to welcome you back in 2022 with even more resources, support and tools for our fight together.

In the meantime, consider signing up for our #TeachTheTruth campaign. Far-right politicians spent much of 2021 scaring parents about what is taught about the history of racism and inequality in this country. TFN and its partners will be ready to fight the misinformation in 2022.

Join the Campaign to #TeachTheTruth

I hope the holiday season provides you with an opportunity for rest and rejuvenation. Thank you for your partnership in this movement. I look forward to continuing our work together as we ring in the new year!

In unity,
Martí Anselmo Garza (he/him)
TFN Organizing Director
