Schools Hint of Not Reopening in January

From Tim Carney: We are about to witness a massive effort to close schools again next semester. Teachers unions will demand that schools not reopen after Christmas break. Colleges will “begin the semester with remote learning.” Elite private high schools will do the same. Many schools started Christmas break early due to outbreaks. Schools without outbreaks are following suit. And now Stanford is leading the charge on not reopening come January.

NFL Funds Groups Who Seek to Defund Police

The National Fraternal Order of Police issued a press release calling it “ironic that NFL teams travel and play every week under the protection of law enforcement” and send “thousands of dollars to groups whose mission is to end policing and our system of justice” (Twitter).

Salvation Army Struggling as Donors and Volunteers React to Woke Guide

Even though they pulled it, it still revealed a lot about the leadership of the organization. From the story: Some 20,000 volunteer hours have gone unfilled for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign this year, which historically represents about 33% of the charity’s total yearly donations. The charity has also reported substantial shortages of toy and gift donations in some parts of the country, such as New Jersey, where donations are down 30% across the state.
