Friend,
Last night I spoke with Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. We’ve reached a critical new stage in the fight for voting rights, and I had an important message to share:
If the Senate can change its rules to fix the debt ceiling – like it just did last week – it MUST do the same to save our democracy.
|
Let’s be clear: Our democracy is in a 911 state of emergency. Republicans across the country have introduced over 425 bills with voter suppression provisions this year alone – including an egregious bill right here in Georgia. Now, Mitch McConnell & GOP lawmakers in Washington have made it clear they intend to obstruct any and all of our pro-democracy reforms.
Democrats cannot stand idly by as voting rights are stripped away. The stakes are too high – and we’re running out of time to stop these damaging policies before they take effect.
Future generations will ask us, "When democracy was in a 911 state of emergency, what did you do to put the fire out?" We must rise to this moment and fight back.

I’m doing all I can to protect the sacred right to vote, but if we’re going to win this fight, I need Americans across the country to raise their voices with me. I've set a goal to collect 10,000 signatures by 11:59 p.m. tonight in support of voting rights, and I’m counting on your support. Please, will you sign my new petition right away?

Thanks for standing with me in the fight to preserve our democracy.
Sincerely,
Reverend Warnock
