When I was growing up, I never could have imagined I’d become the first Latina ever elected to the Senate. It was only possible thanks to grassroots supporters like you, John.

My parents taught me that I could accomplish anything with hard work, honesty and respect for others. I took that lesson and dedicated my life to public service.

They motivated me every day and their lessons pushed my sister and I to be the first in our family to graduate college. Then I got to work defending my community.

I served two terms as Nevada’s Attorney General and then I became the first Latina and first woman from Nevada ever elected to the U.S. Senate. I won by just two points, narrowly overcoming $50 million spent by Republicans to defeat me.

Now new polling shows me 2 points behind my Trump-endorsed opponent, and CNN is calling me one of the most vulnerable Senators in the country. My race has officially been downgraded from ‘Leans Democratic’ to ‘Toss-Up,’ and I’m about to fall short of my critical midnight goal.
