"House passes long-sought $15 minimum wage legislation" - Washington Post

In 2016, Washington State voters passed an initiative to gradually raise the minimum wage every year, eventually ending at $13.50 in 2020.

It was a huge step forward for our state -- but it's not enough. Right now, 21 states across our nation still adhere to the federal minimum wage of only $7.25 per hour or have no minimum wage in place.

No one should ever have to work multiple jobs just to put food on the table or afford medical care when they need it -- but for folks who only make $7.25 an hour, that's their reality.

This is why Dr. Kim Schrier and her Democratic colleagues in the House passed the Raise the Wage Act on Thursday, which would gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2025.

If passed into law, this bill would be a huge step forward in ensuring everyone, no matter where they live, is paid a livable wage -- but we want to know what you think: Do you support a $15 an hour minimum wage? Take our poll now.
