Moreover, a forensic investigation by Frontline Defenders, confirmed by Amnesty International and Security Labs, revealed that a Pegasus spyware from the Israel-based NSO Group infiltrated those six Palestinian organizations months earlier. Israel controls where the NSO group can offer its products, but there is no global regulatory framework. Now, it has been determined that U.S. officials have been hacked by the Pegasus spyware, and NSO Group is considering shutting down its Pegasus unit and selling the company.
