Every single day we don’t pass our Common Agenda, people are dying. 

Last week, a school shooting was thwarted in Johnstown, but we usually aren’t so lucky. Every weekday, students are crouching under desks in lockdown drills. Every 24 hours that pass, mothers are living through the nightmare of making funeral plans for their children. Every hour, emergency physicians and medical staff are desperately trying to save life after life.

Everyone should be able to live a life free from this preventable catastrophe. It’s why we’ve built the biggest coalition yet–130 faith, public health, veteran, community and other organizations who believe that through their grief, we can enact a solution. We won’t achieve this plan without your help. I’m asking you to dig as deep as you can as we begin to close out this year with our End of Year Giving Campaign.

Our plan pushes for three major areas of reform: 

Extreme Risk Protection Orders → this will work to address the gun suicide epidemic and be a source of support to domestic violence survivors

Lost and Stolen Gun Reporting → this will greatly reduce illegal gun sales driving rising shootings in places from Philadelphia to York to Erie

Universal Background Checks → this could prevent the next mass shooting

Each of these reforms are effective and impactful toward our goal of safety of communities. They’re widely supported, including by gun owners. They absolutely won’t pass without your help. Can I count on you to step up?
