As you know, I’m running for Congress in Illinois’ Eighth District to unseat a corporate politician and put power back where it belongs — in the hands of the people.
I want to lay out where our campaign is right now, both the good and the bad.
Here’s the good news:
 *
   Our
   people
   power
   on
   the
   ground
   is
   growing.
   We’ve
   spent
   the
   last
   year
   building
   deep
   connections
   with
   people
   in
   Illinois’
   Eighth,
   investing
   in
   the
   long-term
   grassroots
   energy
   needed
   to
   overcome
   our
   corporate
   opponent.
 *
   We’re
   one
   of
   the
   top-funded
   progressive
   challengers
   in
   the
   entire
   country
   without
   accepting
   a
   single
   cent
   from
   corporate
   PACs
   or
   special
   interests.
 *
   We’re
   heading
   into
   2022
   with
   the
   most
   momentum
   and
   energy
   we’ve
   ever
   had.
The bad news?
 *
   Outside
   special
   interests
   are
   already
   trying
   to
   stop
   us
   from
   winning
   this
   race.
   For
   example,
   Pro-Israel
   America,
   a
   right-wing
   group
   affliated
   with
   AIPAC,
   labeled
   us
   a
   “key
   race
   of
   2022”
   for
   them
   to
   target.
 *
   The
   establishment
   is
   huddling
   together
   ,
   figuring
   out
   ways
   to
   stop
   our
   momentum.
   The
   Democratic
   Party
   of
   Illinois
   already
   tried
   to
   hamper
   us
   by
   blocking
   access
   to
   their
   voter
   data
   —
   data
   meant
   for
   all
   Democratic
   candidates.
 *
   We’re
   a
   little
   slow
   on
   fundraising
   this
   month.
   If
   we
   don’t
   hit
   every
   goal
   we
   set
   now,
   it’s
   going
   to
   be
   hard
   to
   keep
   up
   with
   our
   corporate
   opponent
   down
   the
   road.
As we head into election year, we need to be as ready as possible for whatever curveballs are thrown our way.
