Undergraduate students (and recent grads) who identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander are highly encouraged to apply. ([link removed])

You'll receive a $5,250 stipend, gain valuable work experience in the public sector, meet with legislative officials, and learn about AAPI issues with an amazing cohort from June 6 - August 12. OCA's Utah chapter worked hard to register voters at the annual Utah Asian Festival, celebrated Filipino American History Month with the leaders of the University of Utah's Pinoy American United Student Organization (PUSO), hosted its annual flu shot and health clinic, and celebrated at its December board retreat + holiday social.

OCA's Detroit chapter held its 49th anniversary celebration on December 11 with a virtual gala, which featured city and state officials and included a special screening of the award-winning documentary "Far East Deep South." Board member and U-M Assistant Professor Ian Shin moderated a conversation with the film's creators Baldwin Chiu and Larissa Lam (above).

OCA-Greater Seattle hosted a situational awareness and self-defense workshop on November 21. Led by OCA National Center's Michael Nguyen and former OCA-GS intern Han Eckelberg, 33 participants (including 28 college students) learned physical and social techniques to de-escalate confrontational situations.
